Pre-K - 5th Grades

There are two steps to the enrollment process for new students:
 
1. Complete the online enrollment application: Enrollment Application
2. Schedule an appointment on our calendar: Appointment Calendar 
Appointments are scheduled on Central Time Zone. Please ensure your device is on correct time zone.

Schedule one appointment per child and allow a minimum of 30 minutes per appointment. If your online application is not complete at the time of your appointment, your appointment will be canceled. For further questions please call us at 830-931-2243 ext. 2500

 

 

The child's biological parent or legal guardian must be the one to come to the appointment to complete the registration and submit the following documents:
  • Child's birth certificate
  • Child's social security card
  • Child's immunization records
  • ID of parent / guardian (picture ID must be current, expired IDs will not be accepted)
  • Active military ID (if applicable)
  • Proof of residence stating physical address and / or service address (light bill, water bill, property tax statement, new buyer's contract or new lease agreement - may not be more than two months old). The bill must be in parent's name, current, show usage and state service address matching student enrollment application. Expired, past due or disconnection notices will not be accepted.
 
If applicable you may also bring:
  • Special Education Papers
  • 504 Records
  • Speech Education Papers
  • Legal Documents

Pre-K Requirements
***MVISD does NOT offer a Pre-K program for three year olds. To be eligible for Pre-Kindergarten in the 2023-24 school year, the student must be four years old by Sept. 1, 2023 and meet one of the qualifiers listed below.***

 Pre-K Qualifier Documents Needed
Food Stamps, TANF, State Medicaid program or SSI Benefits Please provide CURRENT eligibility letter.
Unable to speak and comprehend the English language Will be tested by MVISD staff.
The child of an Active Duty member of the Armed Forces of the United States, including the State Military Forces or a Reserve Component of the Armed Forces, who is ordered to Active Duty by proper authority Proper Military ID for verification.
The child of a member of the Armed Forces of the United States, including the State Military Forces or a reserve component of the Armed Forces, who was injured or killed while serving on Active Duty.
  • Department of Veterans Affairs Documentation (Mentions disability percentage)
  • Copy of the DD214
In, or have been in, the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201, Family Code Proper CPS paperwork
The child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer (3106.002, firefighter (3106.003), or emergency medical first responder  
Household income (ALL working persons living in the home)
  • One month's worth of check stubs. i.e. - If completing registration process in April, provide pay stubs for the entire month of March.  
  • If self-employed, previous year's income tax return documenting all 1099s is the only acceptable documentation.
